What Is Laser Hair Removal?
If you are tired of shaving, tweezing, or waxing to remove all of that unwanted hair, laser hair removal could possibly be the best option worth considering. Laser hair removal is one of the most common cosmetic procedures in the United State and here in Georgia. This is hands down one of the best ways to keep your skin smooth without having to spend so much time and money shaving, waxing, and tweezing. Atlanta Mobile Aesthetics and IV Hyrdrotherapy uses the latest technology and our staff are licensed laser practitioners.
Here’s how Laser Hair Removal works: A laser is pulsed on your skin for milliseconds at a time, emitting a beam of light that converts into heat as it passes harmlessly through the skin. The heat is absorbed by the pigment melanin in the hair follicle and shaft, which inhibits growth. Contrary to popular belief, laser hair removal does not result in permanent removal of all hair (electrolysis is the only procedure that results in permanent hair removal). Instead, laser hair removal results in a permanent reduction of the number of hairs.
What Are The Benefits of Laser Hair Removal?
Lasers are very useful for removing the unwanted hair from the face, legs, arms, underarms, bikini line, and other areas. With ongoing laser hair removal treatments you do not have to get waxed or shave every few days or weeks, instead enjoy silky smooth skin forever without having to shave again.
Some of the benefits of laser hair removal include:
Precision. We use our laser to target dark, coarse hairs while leaving all of the surrounding skin undamaged.
Speed – Each and every pulse of the laser only takes a fraction of a second & can treat several hairs at the same time. The laser can event treat an area about the size of a quarter every second. Also, smaller areas such as the upper lip, can be treated in less than a minute. Larger areas, such as the legs or back, can take up to an hour.
Predictability – Most of our patients have permanent hair loss after three to five sessions on average.
Laser Hair Removal FAQ
When selecting a laser hair removal technician, ensure they have the appropriate qualifications and experience. In Georgia, technicians are required to be licensed Cosmetic Laser Practitioners by the Georgia Medical Board. At Atlanta Mobile Aesthetics & IV Hydration Therapy, our technicians are licensed and have extensive experience in providing professional and effective laser hair removal treatments.
Price variations among laser hair removal providers can be due to factors such as the reputation of the clinic, the experience of the technician, the type of laser used, and the treatment area’s size. At Atlanta Mobile Aesthetics & IV Hydration Therapy, we offer competitive pricing while maintaining exceptional service quality under the guidance of a board-certified physician.
The number of sessions needed for effective laser hair removal varies depending on individual factors such as hair growth cycles, the area being treated, and hair density. On average, clients may require four to six sessions for optimal results. Our experienced staff at Atlanta Mobile Aesthetics & IV Hydration Therapy will develop a personalized treatment plan tailored to your specific needs.
Laser hair removal can provide long-lasting results and significantly reduce unwanted hair growth. While it may not be a completely permanent solution, the treated hair is often reduced considerably, allowing for greater confidence in your appearance. It is important to have realistic expectations and discuss the desired level of hair reduction with your laser technician.
The cost of laser hair removal varies depending on factors such as the treatment area, number of sessions required, and the provider’s experience. Simple: time and comfort. While electrolysis is very effective, it works by inserting a tiny needle into each hair follicle, one at a time, and delivering a jolt of electricity and/or radio frequency energy. In contrast, the size of the treatment window on the laser head allows the laser to disable many hair follicles in a single pulse. We can treat an entire upper lip in five to nine quick pulses, while an electrologist would take up to hundreds of precisely placed “zaps” to cover the same area. In addition, you experience a less painful sensation with the laser.
This varies from patient to patient but generally 4-6 treatments are enough for most of our clients. In rare instances, as many as 8 treatments may be required.
A number of factors determine the length of time for a treatment. At LaserLight, we plan for adequate time to go as slowly or as fast as is comfortable and appropriate for each client. The size and “topography” of the area treated factors into the time required, as does the amount of preparation. As a general rule, an upper lip or the tops of ears may require eight to 10 minutes. The front of the neck or underarms can take as little as 20 minutes.
The laser’s light emerges through a window that is pressed against your skin, to instantly remove the heat that gives you a little “pinch” feeling as the laser pulses. Our equipment also emits a patented smooth pulse of light, which delivers a continuous energy level without characteristic spikes in energy that in some of the other lasers cause a sharp sting. You experience minimum discomfort during a laser treatment, and many of our clients report that the sensation is much more comfortable than waxing, electrolysis, or even tweezing.
Hair removal lasers emit a light at a specific wavelength that is known to be absorbed by the pigment (color) in the hair follicle — without damaging the surrounding skin. The light is converted to heat energy, which in turns disables the hair follicle so that it will not produce another hair.
Lasers remove hair for good, giving you a long-lasting, even permanent result. In only a few treatments (most laser companies recommend six to eight to get clearance) we can clear your skin of the unwanted hair that has bothered you for so long.
Traditional hair removal methods, such as waxing, shaving, depilatory creams, plucking/tweezing, sugaring, and stringing provide only temporary results — some for fewer than 24 hours. Laser has another advantage, in that you NEVER AGAIN have to let the hair grow out a few days before your treatments in order to get it to work, as you do with the other methods.
