Frequently Asked Questions about Laser Stretch Removal in Atlanta GA

Because laser stretch mark removal is a state-of-the-art treatment, many patients have questions. Our team of healthcare professionals at Atlanta Mobile Aesthetics and IV Hydration Therapy are always glad to answer these questions. Here are some of the most commonly asked questions about laser stretch removal in Atlanta, GA.

Does laser stretch mark treatment hurt?

Most patients say they feel a slight stinging sensation or laser stretch mark treatment. This sensation occurs as the pulses of light energy act upon the skin. Your skin gets used to it after a few moments. Some patients opt for topical anesthetic.

Are laser treatments for stretch marks a safe process?

Laser treatments for stretch marks are a minimally invasive procedure that your healthcare professional can perform on an outpatient basis, which makes the treatment safe. Laser treatments do not require incisions, stitches, or prescription pain medicines.

How long does laser stretch mark treatment take?

Depending on the type of laser your healthcare professional uses, the entire procedure can take between 30 and 90 minutes. This does not include time spent on paperwork or prep time.

How many laser stretch mark treatments are required?

The number of laser stretch mark treatments you will require depends on the severity and size of the stretch marks. Some patients see complete results after just one treatment, but most people require between one and six treatments to enjoy the full benefits of the treatment.

How quickly will I see results?

The results become noticeable within just a few weeks for most patients. It may take longer for especially severe or large stretch marks.

How long does recovery take?

The treated skin will begin to dry and peel five to seven days after your laser resurfacing; the area will fully heal in 10 to 14 days, depending on the size of the treatment area.

Are there any side effects?

There are very little side effects associated with laser stretch removal. When side effects do occur, they typically involve raw skin and mild discomfort. Scabs often develop over the treated area.
