Introduction

In the evolving landscape of aesthetic medicine, there has been a notable trend towards therapies that activate cellular components, surpassing the traditional structural enhancements offered by dermal filler augmentation. Consequently, polynucleotides (PNs) have gained substantial popularity in both aesthetic and regenerative practices. Their potential to foster tissue regeneration, enhance skin texture, diminish wrinkles, and promote overall skin health has received considerable attention.

Understanding Polynucleotides and Their Mechanism

Polynucleotides are long chains of nucleotides, fundamental to the structure of DNA and RNA molecules. In the realm of aesthetic and regenerative medicine, the term PNs often specifically refers to polydeoxyribonucleotides (PDRNs), which are purified DNA fragments. For application in aesthetics and regeneration, these PDRNs are formulated into injectable solutions at prescribed concentrations. Differing from traditional fillers, PNs actively enhance the skin’s natural regeneration by stimulating fibroblasts and encouraging collagen and elastin production.

Applications of PNs in Aesthetics

- Skin Rejuvenation

A randomized study evaluated the effects of combining PNs with hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers versus using HA fillers alone for nasolabial fold treatment. The findings were noteworthy, revealing that the PN + HA group had superior and more enduring improvements in wrinkle appearance, skin texture, and dermal hyaluronic acid levels compared to HA alone.

- Hyperpigmentation Treatment

The melanogenesis inhibition properties of PDRN signify its potential application in treating diverse hyperpigmentation disorders, including melasma, freckles, and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.

Applications of PNs in Regenerative Medicine Therapy

- Wound Healing

PDRNs have demonstrated significant effectiveness in accelerating the wound healing process by enhancing angiogenesis and reducing inflammation. This makes them particularly beneficial in a variety of therapeutic settings.

By offering advanced therapies with PNs, Atlantic Mobile Aesthetics and Wellness in Georgia remains at the forefront of aesthetic and regenerative medicine, providing innovative solutions that support the natural healing and enhancement processes of the skin.
