Dr. Enchante’ Franklin, PhD

Assistant Professor of Social Work

Dr. Franklin a native of New Orleans, LA (The Big Easy), is a Professor at the University of the Virgin Islands School of Social Work. She earned her Bachelor in Social Work from Southern University at New Orleans and received her Master’s degree in Social Work- Southern University at New Orleans. She completed her second Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice also at Southern University at New Orleans. She earned a Doctorate degree in Philosophy specializing in Social Policy, Planning and Administration at the Whitney M. Young Jr., School of Social Work at Clark Atlanta University. She has taught ungraduated and graduate courses in professional social work development, advanced practice research methods, human behavior theory, youth violence, child abuse and neglect, psychopathology, forensic social work, sociology, diversity, social policy and social justice, capstone, and advanced field practicum. Dr. Franklin serves as Co- Director of Pan African Curriculum and Instruction on the board for HBCU Africa Education Coalition Corp (HAEC) a registered subsidiary of 3GC Incorporated a 501(C)(3) 3GC, Inc. (weare3gc.org) specializing in Study Abroad programs and curriculum. HAEC Corp – Board of Directors | HBCU Africa Education Coalition.

She volunteers her time to the program every summer as Co-Director of Maternal Health in Africa by taking HBCU students to study abroad while conducting service-learning projects for families in Accra, Cape Coast, and Kumasi, Ghana. Her praxis, teaching philosophy, entrepreneurship, and scholarship interests are grounded in the following areas: the Afrocentric and Pan African Perspectives, Servant Leadership, Service Learning and Cultural Resilience. Wellness Advocacy and Access to Total Care. Healing Centered Praxis: historical trauma perspective, resilience theories, social ecological perspective, community mental health treatment, psychiatric recidivism, suicide prevention and awareness for LGBTQ, government policies and disaster mitigation, and her most favored woman of color and disaster recovery. As a community advocate, she travels between the United States and Internationally serving multiple individuals, communities, and organizations affected by persistent mental illness and community trauma using spiritual interventions.

Dr. Franklin’s program of research focuses on the development of culturally valid methods and measures of resilience during times of community disasters and mobility in African American families. Specifically, her applied research includes observations of phenomena in communities impacted by natural and man-made disasters as unrecognized factors during post-recovery in marginalized areas for vulnerable populations. Also, applied research using narrative and storytelling techniques to measure and strengthen the common themes among African American families who experience community disasters worldwide. She believes that prevention and reduction of disaster mobility can strengthen levels of cultural resilience during disaster preparation and in the aftermath. Dr. Franklin recently launched (iCANDCARIBBEANSOCIALWORK) a registered subsidiary of EnchantedLinks, Consulting Firm. I CAN DO CARIBBEAN SOCIAL WORK is a Caribbean Social Work movement designed to increase the likelihood of college students and other healthcare professionals studying social issues in a Caribbean setting and abroad. This is an (ISW) international social work training curriculum component to assist integrated teams who work and travel in the healthcare sector. This movement was designed and supported by EnchantedLinks, Consulting Firm to increase Caribbean Social Work studies and participation in service-learning training by using integrated concepts and techniques for social workers and health care professionals with research interest.

She is dedicated to the art of prose, storytelling, and poetry writing through the lens of ethnography, spirituality, and cultural resilience. Apart from being an academic, she is a ritual specialist-Holistic Healer using African-centered spiritual systems. She facilitates, coaches, and executes programmes and consultancies related to cultural spiritual practices such as rites of passage, renaming ceremonies, and initiation into spiritual grounding practices. She has written two books “The Blue Lotus Flower” and “The Bloom Effect”.

Sammy Yassin, NP

Nurse Practitioner
Sammy Yassin is a board certified Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner and has been practicing critical care medicine for 5 years. Sammy’s background and career in medicine is very diverse and stems from several years of working as a pharmacy technician followed by overseas education in Taiwan where he learned Mandarin and the art of Chinese medicine. Sammy’s passion in medicine led him to his studies as a nurse practitioner completed at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Sammy has practiced in various critical care settings, both inpatient and outpatient and has served populations of various medical conditions. Most recently, he has expanded his area of knowledge and expertise to service the community by providing medical based aesthetic treatments.

DeAnn Bing, MD

Medical Doctor
Dr. DeAnn Bing is a board-certified Internal Medicine physician and has been practicing medicine for 8 years. Dr. Bing received her medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine in Dominica, located in West Indies. Upon completion of her medical degree, she returned to the US and completed residency training with Morehouse School of Medicine at Grady Hospital in Atlanta. Dr. Bing has practiced in both inpatient hospital and outpatient private medical practice environments, treating a multitude of medical problems. Recently she has expanded her area of knowledge and expertise to include providing medical based aesthetics treatments in an effort to service the Atlanta community with a more holistic beauty and wellness approach to health.

Kate Bingham, PA

Katie is Florida native who graduated with her Bachelors in Nutritional Sciences from the University of Florida. She received her Masters in Physician Assistant Studies from South University in Savannah, GA. She made the move to the Atlanta area in 2019 where she began her career in primary care. For the last few years she has been working in dermatology where she developed her passion for aesthetic medicine. She loves all things health and wellness, cooking, and spending time with her husband and two golden retrievers.
