As women age, it’s not uncommon for them to experience changes in their vaginal health. These changes can include a loss of elasticity and lubrication, which can lead to discomfort during sex. If you’re experiencing these changes and are looking for a non-surgical way to improve your vaginal health, you may want to consider PRP vaginal rejuvenation treatment.

What is PRP Vaginal Rejuvenation?

PRP vaginal rejuvenation is a non-surgical, minimally invasive treatment that can improve the appearance and function of the vagina. The procedure uses your own blood to stimulate new collagen growth and improve blood flow to the area, resulting in a more youthful appearance and improved sexual function.

What Are the Benefits of Vaginal Rejuvenation?

PRP vaginal rejuvenation can provide a number of benefits, including:

  • Tighter, more toned appearance
  • Increased natural lubrication
  • Improved sexual function
  • Reduced urinary incontinence
  • Improved orgasms by improving clitoral sensitivity
  • Relief from painful intercourse

Vaginal PRP Injection Process

Your PRP vaginal rejuvenation appointment will take place in our office. The procedure will take less than an hour to complete. The PRP vaginal rejuvenation procedure begins with a blood draw from your arm. The blood is then placed in a centrifuge to separate the platelets from the red blood cells. The platelet-rich plasma is then injected into the vaginal area using a very thin needle.

Is Vaginal Rejuvenation Painful?

The vaginal rejuvenation procedure is minimally invasive and is usually well tolerated by patients. Some patients may experience some mild discomfort during the blood draw and injection.

How Long Does it Take to See Results?

Some patients may see results from their PRP vaginal rejuvenation treatment immediately, while others may take up to three months to see the full effects of the treatment. The results from your PRP vaginal rejuvenation are long-lasting, but you may need additional treatments every year or two to maintain your results.

What is the Recovery Time for PRP Vaginal Rejuvenation?

There is no downtime associated with the PRP vaginal rejuvenation procedure. You may experience some mild redness and swelling at the injection site, but this should resolve within a few days. You can resume all normal activities immediately following your treatment.

How Long Does Vaginal Rejuvenation Last?

The results of your PRP vaginal rejuvenation treatment will depend on a number of factors, including your age, lifestyle, and the extent of your condition. Typically, PRP vaginal rejuvenation is a long-lasting treatment. The results of your procedure will continue to improve over the next few months as new collagen is produced. The effects of the treatment can last for up to two years.

How To Prepare for Your PRP Vaginal Rejuvenation Appointment

Avoid sexual activity, the use of tampons, and douching for at least 24 hours before your PRP vaginal rejuvenation appointment. You should also avoid taking any blood thinners, such as ibuprofen or aspirin, for at least a week before the procedure.
